A Golden Evening in Newport Beach

There’s something timeless about Newport Beach—the way the sun melts into the horizon, the soft golden light reflecting off the ocean, and the calm that settles in as waves meet the shore. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Orange County for a photo session, and for this senior graduation photoshoot, it became the perfect backdrop to celebrate one of life’s biggest milestones.

Capturing a Moment Between Then and Now

This session was all about capturing that moment between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming.

As a senior photographer in Newport Beach, I love seeing that spark of excitement and reflection in my clients’ eyes—the kind that only comes at the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

The evening started with soft pastel skies and that gentle Newport breeze that plays with your hair just enough to make every photo feel effortless. We walked along the sand, stopping where the tide rolled in and the sunlight wrapped everything in a warm glow.

Those candid, in-between moments—the laughter, the windblown hair, the quiet looks toward the ocean—became some of my favorite shots of the session.

The Story Behind Every Portrait

Graduation portraits aren’t just about the cap and gown; they’re about emotion and story. This Newport Beach senior photo session reflected freedom, nostalgia, and the anticipation of what’s next.

Every photo told a piece of her journey—her joy, her confidence, and the bittersweet excitement of moving forward.

As a photographer serving both Newport Beach and Orange County, I’m reminded how each senior brings their own personality and story to the session. Some love the elegance of the beach at sunset, others bring their favorite outfits or keepsakes that represent their passions.

What I love most is helping them feel truly seen—capturing not just their smile, but their spirit in this incredible season of life.

The Beauty of a Newport Beach Sunset

By the time the sun disappeared behind the ocean, the world seemed to pause for just a second. It was the kind of evening that reminds me why I love being a Newport Beach graduation photographer—because every session is more than photos; it’s a living memory, frozen in golden light.

At Life Now Photography, it’s about capturing those fleeting moments—the joy, the emotion, and the beauty of right now.

That One Time it Rained in Newport Beach | OC Family Photographer

Sasha Douglas October 17, 2018

The phenomena of Newport happened here this weekend: it rained—with lighting. My kids were in awe, watching for hours that night. And of course the next day called for rain boots and puddle jumping. Hashtag growing up in SoCal. 😜☀️🌈
